Description

The Envira Amazonia Project is a REDD+ project designed by VCS and CCBS in the Brazilian state of Acre, aiming to protect up to 200,000 hectares of tropical rainforest. Additionally, the Envira-Amazonia Project will simultaneously preserve a rich biological diversity and a wide range of ecosystem services, provide direct benefits to local communities, and mitigate the release of ~12.6 million CO₂ tons of carbon dioxide emissions in the first ten years of the project.

The sustainable United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a framework developed by the United Nations as a universal call to action. The 17 Global Goals are interconnected and recognize that actions in one area affect outcomes in others. The Global Goals aim to address critical social, economic, and environmental challenges to ensure sustainable development for all people by 2030. The reporting framework provides governments, businesses, organizations, and other stakeholders with a structured approach to track their contributions and progress toward achieving the SDGs.
